Rodney Wright grew up in Inglewood, California in a household plagued with poverty, violence, and drug addiction. As a youth he focused on basketball and music to escape the lure of the gang culture prevalent in Los Angeles. He attended Mt. San Antonio College before beginning his career at Southern California Gas Company where he worked for over 19 years and became a senior Commercial Technician.
Rodney currently works as a Commercial Technician in Burbank, California. He also invests in real estate properties in lower income areas to help revitalize the communities. He devotes his time to teaching Bible studies to his family and friends and also as a Connect Group leader at the church where he and his wife are members, Hope's House Ministries in Granada Hills, California. Rodney's favorite pastime is volunteering as a youth basketball coach for 12–14-year-olds. Rodney has 4 daughters and a bonus son with his wife, Cha'Ticia.
