Sarah is a pastor's wife, a mother, and an "Oma" to four adorable grandchildren.
Sarah, and her husband Chris, are blessed to minister to one of the oldest known indigenous aboriginal cultures in the world. They also journey long distances to visit isolated farmers in the harsh Australian outback, people who often endure weeks, months, and sometimes even years of unpredictable weather, flooding, drought, and fire.
For many years Sarah was a school chaplain in Queensland's secular state schools. She trained and worked in the mental health and community services sector, where she ministered to families in the often forgotten, or marginalised, parts of society.
Sarah is originally from Christchurch, New Zealand. After many "ups and downs" as a single young mother, Sarah met and married the love of her life, Chris. A few years later they sold their seaside cottage in New Zealand, and moved, by faith, to the city of Cincinnati, in the USA, where her husband attended a Christian university to complete his Masters degree. After living in the USA, God called them to Australia, and into congregational church ministry.
Sarah and her family have lived in a wide variety of places and settings; on rural sheep farms, in stunning coastal cottages, and in bustling city apartments. Today you will now find them at home in the beautiful far north of Queensland, Australia, where you will often find them ministering in local churches, or "camping" in remote places in far North Queensland. This is the space where they share the good news of the gospel, and share the story of how Jesus gives us peace, blessings, and especially hope in these uncertain times.
Sometimes, as can often happen in the remote bushland of Australia, you may find them attending to the unexpected God-appointed meetings with one or two strangers; strangers who will often become friends, all while pulling up a chair to have a chat, and to enjoy the campfire.
