Simon Packham read drama at Manchester University. He was a stand-up comedian and then an actor for twenty years (if you didn't blink you might have caught him on The Bill, or standing next to Dame Judy Dench in a mask) before becoming a writer. He has published four previous books with Piccadilly, all about children who attend the fictional St Thomas's Community College. He is married to a headmistress, and has two teenage children who both give him invaluable advice on his writing. Follow Simon at www.simonpackham.com or on Twitter: @baldambitions
