Sine Aras Akten received her medicine degree in Medicine and Nephrology in the United States. After completing at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and Albert Einstein University, Akten is currently working at Queens Medical Center as a Nephrologist. She specializes in Chronic Kidney Failure and Hypertension. As long as her medicine degree, she graduated from the New York Film Academy in documentary and filmography. She took part in short films and campaign projects for public health. Dr. Akten, who has many publications and research, is the first Turkish doctor to be selected for the Harvard "Media and Medicine" program. Dr Akten has been selected in one of those influential "Young Leaders" in American Turkish Society in 2021. She is an active member of the American Society of Nephrology and the American Transplant Society. She aims to combine the concepts of art and medicine with the intricate narrative style he has developed. She published two books in pandemics with very big impact in her community in Istanbul. She has been involving in many broadcast projects, recently creating her own portal on patient's stories as called story2heal. Originally from Izmir, Sine Akten is married and has two children. She lives in Brooklyn, New York. She is one of the artists of Trestle Art Galleries and participates in exhibitions with his watercolor works in her spare time. She is on the board of the Art Loves Science NGO institution
