Born to Japanese immigrants in Calgary, S.M. Shigemitsu grew up in Edmonton. She worked overseas as a teacher in Mongolia, Japan, and Bangladesh. She presently resides in Canada.
“The Blue Bird of Happiness” is her first book published.
