Nato a Derby, Inghilterra, nel 1952, Stephen Gregory si è dedicato agli studi
giuridici presso la University of London e successivamente all’insegnamento
in Galles, Algeria e Sudan. Ha vissuto a Hollywood, in California, dove ha
lavorato come sceneggiatore con William Friedkin alla Paramount Pictures.
Nel 1987 ha vinto il Somerset Maugham Award con The Cormorant, che ha
ispirato l’omonimo film con Ralph Finnies, ed è stato tradotto in italiano da
Monica e Daniela Pezzella per l’editore Elliot nel 2016.
