I was born in the late forties in Texas.
That makes Vietnam my war.
Those that served are my brothers and sisters.
Too many of them didn’t make it home.
Many that did come home were broken,
some physically, others psychologically.
I’ve seen too many give up and die well before their time.
I plead with you, don’t give up, don’t quit.
I promise you, I will never say,
“I can’t do this anymore.”
