Born in the Year of the Dragon, Vonnie Winslow Crist has had a life-long interest in reading, writing, art, and mythology that was nurtured not only by her family, but also by a few kind-hearted teachersat Perry Hall Elementary, Parkville Junior High, and Perry Hall High. After earning a Bachelors degree in Art-Education, she married then raised three children, did free lance illustrating and writing, and taught poetry for the Maryland State Arts Council's Artist-n-Education Program. 30 years after graduating from Towson University, she returned to her alma mater and earned a Masters in Professional Writing. Believing the world around us is filled with mystery and miracles, she watches and listens for angels, fay, dragons, talking ravens, and sea folk of all sorts.
