One would not usually associate a person with a Doctorate in Accounting; retired Professor teaching accounting and tax; and who is currently working as an auditor, to be involved with fiction.
For the record, I have also written many text books for students and professional people in the legal and accounting sphere. I have even wrote a book on numbers in the bible. There were all based on research and very different from the style one would use for fiction.
My aim with writing Do(d)ggy Business was to provide readers with a few hour of relaxation and to encourage them to use their imagination. That was apart from me enjoy writing it.
