W. Jason Petruzzi was born in New Rochelle, New York in 1977, and within days was diagnosed with complex congenital heart disease. In spite of these severe life-long physical limitations, he maintained a cheerful disposition and intellectual curiosity.
After a family move to Northern Virginia, Jason graduated HS in 1995 and worked as a Fairfax County administrative assistant, beginning in 1996. He later earned a B.A. degree in English from George Mason University in 2006, and an M.A. degree in Library & Information Studies from Florida State University in 2011.
Jason had just begun his 19th year of service with Fairfax County when he was seriously injured in a car accident (due to a critical malfunction of his vehicle). After a week in intensive Cardiac Care, he died in 2014 at the age of 37.
Capitalizing on his intellectual strengths, Jason spent much of his free-time creating and writing several novels, poems and short-stories. Knowing full well how fragile his health was, he left a note to his parents asking for help getting his works published, should he not be able to do it himself.
His first published novel, "Dawn of All Things", was Jason's favorite (an Amazon paperback). His own life-long struggles gave him insight into the courage, kindness and compassion for others, which define "Dawn's" journey; the need to be accepted for all that you are.
His second published novel, "Rapture: Or, Satan Wins Again: A Contemporary Novel", (also an Amazon paperback) was created as the result of Jason's deep interest in religious writings and the afterlife.
