Walter Lucius est écrivain, scénariste, producteur et réalisateur. Il a dirigé plusieurs troupes de théâtre nationales en Hollande. Il a réalisé de nombreux documentaires sur des thèmes d’actualité, notamment l’insertion des migrants dans la société néerlandaise. Un Papillon dans la tempête est sa première incursion dans la fiction, couronnée dès sa sortie par le prestigieux Schaduwprijs (Prix du meilleur roman policier aux Pays-Bas).
