Jonas Jonasson, ou le Suédois qui faisait de la philosophie sans le vouloir dans des comédies grinçantes et déjantées. Né en 1961, ancien journaliste et consultant pour les médias, il a rencontré un succès phénoménal avec son premier roman, Le vieux qui ne voulait pas fêter son anniversaire, publié dans une trentaine de pays. Il est également l'auteur de L'analphabète qui savait compter, L'assassin qui rêvait d'une place au paradis, Le vieux qui voulait sauver le monde et Douce, douce vengeance, tous parus aux Presses de la Cité.
