The USCIS Policy Manual along with the AFM - Adjudicator's Field Manual provide guidance for all Immigration Law decisions made by the USCIS. Included are cross-references to the INA, the Code of Regulations, the Foreign Affairs Manual (FAM), and relevant Court decisions. Each are hyperlinked to make the cross-references easy to access without the need to refer to additional books or searching the internet for the resource. INA - Title 8 United States Code includes Chapters 12, 13, 14, and 15. The INA (Immigration and Nationality Act) is classified principally to Chapter 12 of Title 8 USC. 8 C.F.R. - Title 8 Code of Federal Regulations includes Chapters I and V which reference both the INA and U.S.C. Title 8 throughout. Each referenced term, rule, and element is Hyperlinked to the full text of the INA, Regulation, FAM Section, or IFM Section that establishes the authority for the rule or privides further explanation. The IFM - Customs and Border Protection Inspector's Field Manual was published by court order based on an FOIA request in 2011. It contains material dated 2/10/2006, the manual is useful to get a complete understanding of Immigration Law.
The EOIR Immigration Court Practice Manual and Board of Immigration Appeals Practice Manual (BIA) provide the procedural rules that govern Immigration Court proceedings and procedures to appeal the decisions made by the Immigration Courts and by DHS Officials. [Current as of 12/07/2020 and 10/05/2020 respectively].
Finally, included are 54 important cases cited from the Supreme Court and precedent decisions of the BIA which have been incorporated by hyperlink in the appropriate code section.
