J. Michael Dumoulin is a 30-year Air Force veteran; a NASA retiree; and former director of strategic initiatives at the INFINITY Science Center near New Orleans. Now retired to write and illustrate, J. Michael donates time as senior partner in TDG, a museum consulting LLC. He serves on the Board of Directors at the Ground Zero Hurricane Museum, Waveland, Miss., and as a grant writer at the Gulfport Arts Center. He is an award-winning communicator and artist, a writer, illustrator, and exhibit designer.
The three-book set "Flatcreek Tales" (2015) were his 2nd, 3rd, and 4th books. J. Michael's fifth book, a business leadership book titled "Followership: The Manual," came out in 2016, and is now in its fourth edition (2021). "Great Nations Dare to Explore," book #6 (2017), is a tabletop history book about space exploration. "A Frenchman's Duty" (2018) is available at Amazon.com and on Kindle, and in several library systems around the country. Someday, when he feels old enough to release a memoir, "Threads that Bind" (2019) will be distributed, too. "Balanced on a Moment," a collection of essays and illustrations, was Dumoulin's ninth release (2021) and the basis of a National Endowment for the Arts-funded museum exhibit that ran from Jan-April 2022.
Colonel Dumoulin earned a B.A. in Commercial Art at Florida State University and an Advertising B.S. at the University of Florida. He was awarded a Masters in Public Communication from Boston University and holds a post-Masters certificate in National Strategy from the Air Force's Air University.
Followers have more power and influence than they realize. Unlike leadership, though, followers don't have week-long seminar retreats in opulent, pastoral settings or tomes to read that tell them what to do, or not to do. Until now. This book is a light, often humorous read that presents the flip side of leadership: j. michael dumoulin looks up from below with a combination of personal experiences gleaned from two careers as a follower and historic examples of great "seconds" who helped make great leaders great. "Followership: the manual" expands with every edition as readers contribute their own tenets and observations. The 80-page fourth edition, available in both hard-bound, paperback and now ebook formats, is nearly double in size, adding 11 new tenets and a handful of new illustrations. It's a must-read companion to every leadership book on your shelf.

Michael holds a BA from Florida State University and a BS from the University of Florida, not to mention an MS in Communications from Boston University and a masters-equivalent in National Strategies from Air University.
