Amythest is in her twenties, looking for clues about what happened to her parents. Who killed them? What did they do to be murdered? Why does she have seemingly implanted memories of places she doesn't know? When she is taken out for the day by her best friend, to go out and find someone to take her mind off of this seemingly dead-end search, a weird guy begins stalking her, and she ends up meeting a tall, dark-haired hunk.
After Derek deals with the stalker and introduces himself, he gives Amythest his card. She tells Amy about it, and Amy is frustrated that Amythest didn't agree to a date. The fair is in the city and Amy brings Amythest, saying she has to go every day until she gets herself a date. The first night she runs into Derek again, and they finally set up a date.
Derek learns about Amythest's plan and decides to heed her friend's warning, doing everything he can to deter her from this mysterious, fatal quest. He shows her what life could be like with him, taking her on a trip to get her away from the life she's determined to uncover. Eventually, he figures out where Amythest is headed, but it's too late by then, they already know where she is, and he has to team up with her best friend to save her... but can they?
