Tom began his journey riding and jumping horses when he was eleven and became a state champion and a lifetime horse lover. Then realizing that he needed to learn more than just the horse world, he started writing poems at Occidental College as a way of learning to express himself. After finishing college he lived in Kyoto Japan teaching English to children and businessmen. When he came back to the United States, he became a management consultant and business owner. Tom is now retired after selling the company and lives in California and Saigon. He spends his time riding horses, enjoying sushi, writing, and traveling the world.
This is the first book in my "Heart of a Gypsy" travel series. It has poems, photos, and diary comments from many of my trips to Gull Lake. Every year at the end of the summer, we go to Gull Lake in the Eastern Sierra Mountains in California to stay at Jim and Elaine's cabin on the lake. We always enjoy fishing, hiking, watching western movies and football, relaxing, kayaking, drinking great wines and eating delicious meals together. Sometimes I would catch fish and sometimes the only fish I would catch would be the one on the coffee cup I bought at the Marina! But it didn't matter because the fellowship with my friends was most important and will be remembered for a lifetime.
Thanks to my fishing friends for all the adventures and I look forward to many more. Tom
