John Hulme is a retired Professor, now living and writing in Florida. He was educated in England - a long time ago - and arrived on the shores of New York carrying a single suitcase and lots of ideas. He has written several hardcover science books and was an early user of the fledgling internet as a teaching tool. Before retirement he wrote a set of fictional science stories about Gregor Mendel - the person who discovered genetics, which he is now converting into ebooks. Since retirement he has started on a long-cherished writing project of historical fiction - which you may be seeing soon.
Beloved characters in popular fairy tales have very short lives, but the reader is usually assured that they end up "living happily ever-after". Have you ever wondered what became of them after the bedtime book was closed and put away on the shelf? In this collection of short stories you discover that there is indeed a life ever-after for such favorites as Goldilocks and Show White, that Cinderella's stepsisters have their own version of what happened at their famous slipper-party, and how Jacob Marley first met Ebenezer Scrooge - and what happened to them before Tiny Tim came on the scene. Also included are two bonus stories - one about a strange visitor who came the night after Christmas, and one of a series of "Village Tales" in which the difficult problems in the world are somehow clarified.
