Frances Pauli is a hybrid author of over twenty novels. She favors speculative fiction, romance, and anthropomorphic fiction and is not a fan of genre boxes. Frances lives in Washington state with her family, four dogs, two cats and a variety of tarantulas.
Donald Jacob Uitvlugt lives on neither coast of the United States, but mostly in a haunted memory palace of his own design. His short fiction has appeared in numerous print and online venues, including Cirsova magazine and in the Flame Tree Press anthology Murder Mayhem. He also writes the on-going webserial Jiao Tu’s Endeavour, the first story arc of which has been collected in the volume The Kidnapped Mousling.
Donald strives to write what he calls “haiku fiction,” stories small in scale but big in impact. If you’ve enjoyed “The King of Cats,” let him know. The easiest way is through Twitter, where he can be found under the handle @haikufictiondju
I am many things, an IT Project Manager, Dungeon Master, husband and father. I am a big lover of Fantasy and Sci-Fi among other genres. I have been gaming for going on 22 years now and in all of that time I have learned to spin a good tale. I have a passion for all things fantastical in my stories and in real life. Let me tell you a tale my friends, let me tell you several.
Gleaming utopias, friendly alien species, allied confederations
These idealistic dreams can easily fall into a horrible reality—nightmare fueled visions of the future to come.
From the loneliness of space, to the horror of first contact gone awry, to planetary colonies facing annihilation; Bleak Horizons offers fifteen stories about what horrors lie waiting for those who look to the future.
