Bruce M. Di Marsico (1942-1995) was an American psychotherapist who created The Option Method in the late 1960's. Di Marsico spent his early years as a Catholic seminarian and student of psychology and philosophy, and later practiced as a psychotherapist and human relations consultant. He came to understand that every person has a choice in their own happiness and strove to develop a simple, effective self-help tool that each person can use to live their happiest life. The Option Method has spread around the world, helping others achieve their own greatest wisdom and happiness.

The Option Method: The Myth of Unhappiness Complete Set
|
The Option Method: The Myth of Unhappiness, Vol. 1 is the first of a three-volume set on the fundamental causes of unhappiness and the groundbreaking antidote in the form of this powerful self-help technique. Subtitled The Collected Works of Bruce Di Marsico on the Option Method and Attitude, the book explores happiness and unhappiness in 93 chapters such as Happiness Is Our Ultimate Desire, There Are No Obstacles to Happiness and The Nature of Choice. In this first volume Di Marsico provides an overview of the Option Method and the all-important attitude behind it. Step into the classroom with Bruce as he presents the foundation and framework for understanding his teachings and most importantly, ourselves. Bruce explains how our beliefs shape our emotions, the crucial difference between needing and wanting and the connection between our desires and our happiness. The goal of the volume can be summed up in Di Marsico s words: I want it to become second nature to you that you will never in your life see unhappiness without knowing that what you re seeing is a belief in action. Not something inevitable, not something determined by nature, but a choice. No one is unhappy unwillingly. The Option Method is based on the premise that happiness is our natural state and all unhappiness is based on the belief that we have to be unhappy. A precursor to new age personal growth and development tools, today the Option Method is practiced the world over. Bruce Di Marsico (1942-1995)left behind a rich legacy of his voluminous writings on the nature of happiness and unhappiness and his blueprint for achieving happiness through the Option Method. Until now, these writings were not widely available. Lovingly compiled by Di Marsico s widow, Deborah Mendel, with edits and commentary by Aryeh Nielsen. Foreword by Frank Mosca (author, Joywords)and contributions by Wendy Dolber(author, The Guru Next Door, A Teacher s Legacy), both trained by Di Marsico.
