J. Leigh Bralick was born in Washington, D.C. to a military family. After a childhood spent moving from state to state and taking many exciting and lengthy road trips across the country (accompanied by the requisite quantities of Beethoven, coffee and donuts, without which no road trip is possible), she settled down in Dallas, TX to pursue her education.
She received her bachelor’s degree in medieval history and a master’s degree in politics at the University of Dallas before going on to complete her bachelor’s in nursing from Baylor University. She spends most of her non-existent spare time writing fantasy novels. She is also still stuck in Texas, but happily considers it home after years of answering the question, “Where are you from?” with what she considered the very clever response of, “Nowhere.”
She is owned by a stubborn mutt named Liberty, a Caique who was a Cirque du Soleil acrobat in a previous life, three immortal hens who are secretly plotting world domination, and two hives of bees that are actually aliens.
She was nothing but the Voice of the Gods, speaking words of smoke and wind.
The Voice's life depends on her ability to predict the future for the King, but if he knew her secrets, would he spare his justice?
A fantasy short story from the author of The Madness Method and the Lost Road Chronicles.
