Angela Grey has been writing since 2002. Initially, she self-published under the pseudonym Peyton Mathie; but then changed to her own name in 2008. She's a writer with mental illness, and has created memorable, moving tales about the sometimes unexpected and challenging road to first love. Those books are Dancing Without Music, Of Laughter & Heartbreak (a piece about obsessive-compulsive disorder), Déjà vu (a tale about a teen with bipolar disorder), and Secret Whispers (a story about schizophrenia).
Although Angela is a South Dakota native and an enrolled member of the Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate, she's lived in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, New York, on and off throughout her childhood. Currently, Angela resides in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, which is in the suburban Twin Cities, with the love of her life, Robert, their two Manx, two American Bobtail, their Cocker Spaniel/Cavalier King Charles mix, near their four adult children and their spouses, and two grandsons. In her spare time, Angela enjoys budget travel, camping, grilling/BBQs with family, yoga and spirituality classes and being a mental health advocate.
Paige Peterson received her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of St. Thomas and an additional bachelor's degree from Rasmussen University. She resides in the suburban Twin Cities with her husband, two cats, and a dog. She's a lover of coffee, all things travel-related, and camping alongside Lake Superior.
"Get ready for a gripping new murder mystery thriller by Angela Grey and Paige Peterson in Lake of Secrets. It's been ten years since the bodies of three premature babies were found on the shores of Lake Riley, each born a year apart, creating havoc in the nearby locality. The DNA test results show the babies to be half-siblings. Now, ten years later, Detectives Chayse Adler and Darley "Coop" Cooper find themselves investigating the cold case when two bodies turn up, belonging to the parents of the mother of the prem babies. Despite a tell-all journal written by the mother in her teenage years, rooting out secrets of the past is never an easy task. With the list of suspects rising by the day and immense pressure from the top, can Adler and Coop put the real culprit behind bars?
The best whodunnit stories are when you find yourself second-guessing over and over again until the end. Lake of Secrets is one such story. Angela Grey and Paige Peterson tease readers with little breadcrumbs sprinkled throughout the narrative, keeping their cards close to the chest and only revealing the entire picture in the last few pages. This enables you to immerse yourself in the story, captivated by a fast-paced plot full of twists and turns that keep you wondering what's going to happen next. The characters are layered, with inner conflicts and complex relationship dynamics that make them compelling and intriguing to read. Overall, a fantastic novel for whodunnit lovers."—Reviewed by Pikasho Deka for Readers' Favorite
"Lake of Secrets by Angela Grey and Paige Peterson is a young adult thriller. Detectives Darby Cooper and Chayse Adler have reopened three cold cases that have haunted their town for years. Three infants were found at the edge of a lake with no one in sight. A journal provides some clues, and it points to an affluent woman in town. When her mother and stepfather are found murdered, it seems her guilt is certain. The detectives race to find out the truth as their case picks up momentum, and through a series of interviews and journal entries, they learn the terrible truth associated with the infants' deaths.
I was a teen mother and so I was pleased with the awareness Angela Grey and Paige Peterson raise with their story. Statistics confirm a brighter outlook on teen pregnancy today, due to better information and birth control, and they mention this positive indicator at the end. The story moves along at a fast pace, requiring you to focus on every word so you don't miss a clue in this thrilling narrative. I wish Grey and Peterson had provided more depth to the detectives, but their banter is interesting. The plot will keep you guessing as small clues are given with each section of journal entries or every interview. It will pull you in and keep you turning the pages as you learn about the terrible lengths people will go to keep secrets. Lake of Secrets would make a great gift for any reader who enjoys mysteries and thrillers."—Reviewed by Courtnee Turner Hoyle for Readers' Favorite
