After the tragedy of losing someone he loves three decades before, Denny became the Di Napoli's favoured hit man. Though he once vowed to never take a life, Denny fell into an emotionless morass in 1969, carrying out hits across Canada with as much interest as taking out the trash.

It is tragedy that once again changes Denny after he barely survives an attempted assassination. That and finding an 8 year old runaway hiding from an abusive foster home stirs emotions in Denny he thought were long dead.
Denny rebuilds his life and his business, finding new lucrative rackets and moving his crew toward legitimacy while acting the part of father to young Jessie; a girl he at first thought he had rescued, but begins to suspect it's she who is rescuing him.
But as all successful criminals know, growth and wealth attract enemies who want to take what is not theirs, and will resort to depraved violence to accomplish it.
Once again, Denny finds himself facing foes encroaching on the family's fortunes while he fights back and scrambles to protect those he loves.
