Das Byzantinische Reich war ein sehr großes Reich, welches von 330 bis zum Schicksalsjahr 1453 existiert hat und dann am 29. Mai dieses Jahres in einer gewaltigen Schlacht fiel und dann zum osmanischen Reich wurde.
Nachdem Timo und Florian aus dem Jahr 330 zurückgekehrt sind, steht erst wieder der normale Schulalltag an. Dort prügelt sich dann aber später Timo mit Tobias Hasenpflug, den er dabei so verletzt, dass dieser für 4 Wochen in das Krankenhaus muss. Timo bekommt darauf 4 Wochen Hausarrest. Während diesem Arrest bekommt Timo aber ein so schlechtes Gewissen, dass dieser seinen Rivalen besucht. Aus Feinden werden plötzlich Freunde und diese stellt sich gleich auf die Probe, weil Tobias mit Timos Zeitreiseuhr in das byzantinische Reich reist und dabei sein Leben und das Leben von Florian und Timo gefährdet...
