Revista literaria novelas y cuentos retrató a la perfección el universo de lectura de la clase media española. Alternó siempre autores extranjeros y españoles y mantuvo un buen nivel literario, buscando la novedad, la literatura de gran público y una completa diversidad de géneros. En este trabajo se recogen las fichas de todas las obras publicadas por la colección, incluso las reeditadas después de la Guerra Civil, así como una amplia muestra de las cubiertas debidas, en su mayoría, a Miguel Hevia (1ª época), Manolo Prieto y Serny (2ª época).
