Covey, a successful businessman, lost a brother in the Bull Run. He suspected that his death was intentional. So, he started investigating. He went to Pamplona to see where he died. Then he continued his search to Salamanca University, where Jiro used to study. In the course of his investigation, Covey came across some dangers and attempts on his life. He had a fight with three thugs on the street. His inquisitive nature didn't stop him there. He opened an office in Madrid to make his research easier, instead of traveling from New York to Madrid and back.
While strolling through the streets of Gran Via, he saw one of the men he fought with in Salamanca. He followed him going into a tattoo shop. When the man left, he asked the store manager what he was doing there. The man told him he was a member of a group who had tattoos on their hands.
The tattoo of a cross on the hand between the thumb and forefinger was Covey's new clue. He discovered that the men were members of a militant group actively fighting in the protection of bulls. They sabotaged the Bull Run to discourage people from participating. Jiro was one of their victims.
During Covey's stay in Spain, he fell in love with Marta, Jiro's ex-girlfriend. They had a wonderful romance and got married in the end.
Tankard is what Jiro called his house in Connecticut when he was still a little boy. Every time a visitor would ask about it, he would say Tankard.
