Pillars. To unearth that wisdom, this book explores the Bible's seven pillars of wisdom: Psalms, Job, Proverbs, Song of Songs, Ecclesiastes, Matthew and Revelation. These seven books possess a unity of structure. That includes two patterns to guide you on your path to peace: the harvest pattern and the growth pattern. Follow them and you will become an unshakable pillar of strength.
Patterns. First comes the sevenfold harvest pattern. During each season of life, we need to reap a spiritual harvest to propel us toward the abundant life we desire. The steps to a harvest are preparation, plowing, planting, pouring, plucking, producing and peace. They embrace the whole person: the mind receives the planted gospel seed, the heart is watered by the Holy Spirit, and the hands are trained by the Father's discipline.
Second, the growth pattern introduced by Solomon governs our journey from birth to spiritual maturity. Drawn from Ecclesiastes 3, twenty-eight times of life may be grouped into seven developmental phases: security, ability, stability, amity, opportunity, community, and loyalty. We combine the two patterns by employing the harvest pattern tactically, in pursuit of strategic goals related to our growth towards maturity.
Prophecies. How can we gain resolve to prefer advice from these ancient books to the self-help books of today? We need to see the miraculous power at work in their pages. That power becomes evident when you encounter the prophecies these seven books contain. The two patterns not only expertly direct the feet of individual pilgrims, they chart the course of empires. This book puts both halves together: advice on how to reap a bountiful harvest and hundreds of never-before-seen prophecies to encourage you that these are God's words, not the questionable ideas of well-educated fools.
