M. G. Faust began writing in 2021, after twenty-five years as a social worker.
Eager to attack life, when she was seventeen, she graduated high school, married, and started college, all within a week. She remains in awe of her naïve, energetic, and tireless younger self. Now she feels productive if she does a load of laundry.
She and her late husband lived in a rural area of Louisiana, where they raised three wonderful children and a niece. Now she has the joy of grandchildren.
Growing up on a small farm in south Louisiana gave her time to read on long, laid-back, summer afternoons. Through books and listening to family stories, she traveled the earth.
Although her list of past jobs is long and varied, notable ones include teaching horseback riding, being a Child Welfare Worker for the State of Louisiana for most of her adult life, providing mental health counseling for children, building houses, and being a background actor in the film industry. She was the background blur in many scenes.
She now lives in a small town north of New Orleans with her second husband and two German Shepherds who have trained their humans quite well.
Tressa, a timid social worker, has always seen the best in people. After a robbery rocks her sense of security, she quits her job and moves to suburbia. She loves her cozy new neighborhood but things aren't always what they seem. Her plans to devote time to settling into her home and volunteering are upended when Laura, a friend of Tressa's and an attorney with the New Orleans Parish Public Defender's Office, is murdered and Tressa is named as a person of interest. After a chance meeting, Tressa Harrison and Claire Taylor, a prim street-smart woman, find that they must work together to protect their families from a murderer. Claire's nephew is accused of murdering a drug dealer, but she's certain he's innocent and will risk everything to prove it. When the women meet, Claire suspects Tressa has the key to both murders, even though Tressa doesn't know it. Amid the chaos, Tressa and Claire meet Jake Batiste, a handsome veteran who falls into the mayhem despite warnings from his therapist. A delightful and suspense-filled story that will keep readers engaged.
