These three tales of Lovecraftian dark fantasy are sure to chill any reader. "The Selection" in particular follows Raeanne's imprisonment in a curious cell. It's her final night and there's talk of her release, though whether or not she will be truly freed afterward is up to the gods and whether or not they hunger for her. There is not only talk of religious fanaticism in these tales, but of one as simple and endearing as Matilda's Halloween romp in "Delectable". When she finds herself entangled in a stranger's house, however, things take a deliciously disturbing turn. Finally, "The Scythe" takes place over the body of a dead girl and a discussion concerning her reanimation between two eerie creatures of another dimension who wield the power over life and death.
