Ravi Kant Taxali, a prolific writer is the author of many bestsellers—dBASE III PLUS Made Simple, WordStar Professional 4.0 Made Simple, Lotus 1-2-3 Made Simple, PC Software Made Simple, PC Software for Windows 98 Made Simple, IT Tools and Applications and FoxPro 2.5 Made Simple for DOS and Windows. Currently, he is engaged in developing software and websites using Visual FoxPro, SQL Server, MySQL, PERL, PHP, Java and Microsoft Office. He has worked in Department of Electronics (DOE) (now, Department of Information Technology) for over 15 years at various positions.
His job profile at DOE included conducting short-term courses on microprocessors, PC software,
database design and microprocessor based systems. An Electronics Engineer, he has worked in
the computer industry prior to joining DOE. He has been to USA on a United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) fellowship and to Singapore under the Colombo Plan fellowship to study relational databases. He also contributes technical articles and cartoons to magazines.
