Patsy Collins' stories have been published in a range of United Kingdom, Irish and Australian magazines including Woman's Weekly, Take a Break's Fiction Feast, The Weekly News, Woman's Day, That's Life! and My Weekly. Many of these stories are now available on the Alfie Dog website.
She began writing in 2001 and since then has won or been placed in a number of writing competitions. Always willing to make the most of opportunities to find new situations to write about, in addition to cash prize, Patsy's winnings have included dinner in the House of Commons, publication of her novel Escape to the Country, a book written in Greek (not a language she can read), a Crabbit bag and tea with the mayor.
Patsy maintains a blog where she gives details of free to enter writing competitions, rambles on about writing, gardening, cakes, ships and her other many and varies interests. Patsy lives near Portsmouth, just a short walk from the sea.

Claire's friend asked her if she was superstitious before giving her the vase. Not that it mattered as it was just an ordinary vase. It didn't move about by itself, vases just don't do that. Neither did it have any influence over the life of its owner. There was some other explanation for Claire becoming happier.
