Patsy Collins' stories have been published in a range of United Kingdom, Irish and Australian magazines including Woman's Weekly, Take a Break's Fiction Feast, The Weekly News, Woman's Day, That's Life! and My Weekly. Many of these stories are now available on the Alfie Dog website.
She began writing in 2001 and since then has won or been placed in a number of writing competitions. Always willing to make the most of opportunities to find new situations to write about, in addition to cash prize, Patsy's winnings have included dinner in the House of Commons, publication of her novel Escape to the Country, a book written in Greek (not a language she can read), a Crabbit bag and tea with the mayor.
Patsy maintains a blog where she gives details of free to enter writing competitions, rambles on about writing, gardening, cakes, ships and her other many and varies interests. She'd love you to visit – http://patsy-collins.blogspot.co.uk/ where you'd be welcome to share your thoughts on these important matters.
Patsy lives near Portsmouth, just a short walk from the sea.
She shares her home with her husband and her head with her characters.
Geri's friend Karen is the kind of friend who'll tell you if your breath smells or your skirt is tucked into your knickers. That's one of the things friends are for – that's assuming you really want to know, they pick a good moment to tell you and are doing it for your benefit, not theirs.
This 2900 word short story is also published in one of Patsy's many themed collections of short stories, each of which contains 24 stories.
