It's the same old story; the husband is always the last to know. Well, in my case perhaps not the last but I was well down on the list of people to know. I've always been considered fairly easy going. Not very many things would really upset me, even the stress of a network that wouldn't co-operate or software that didn't work the way it should didn't really get to me too much. That all came to an end the night I became one of the last to know crew.It had been a hell of a week. I spent all day thursday driving to the factory that was owned by a friend of mine, then spent about 14 hours a day, Friday to Monday sorting out his network and database problems. I finally got it up and running properly by lunchtime on Monday, a day and a half prior to schedule. My friend was happy. He'd saved a lot of money and his system was now running a lot better than it had ever done. I was happy since Tuesday was our 25th wedding anniversary. I figured I'd get home early and surprise my wife Sam. She'd been a little unhappy lately about some of the longer trips that I had made. But when the client calls and has a problem that his business depends on, then it's a no-brainer that I'd do whatever was needed to get it fixed. This last job had been one of those in a long list that I have had to do over the past few years.
