I am not a literary, English major or writer. This short story came about in a dream, so I knew I had to put it to paper.
Mark and Jill were a successful but overworked family with 2 kids, Martha and Samuel. With Mark working as a top computer programmer and Jill moving up from a RN to overseeing a hospital, they were constantly on the go.
Martha was the top volleyball player at her school and was also into competition cheerleading. Samuel played travel baseball and practiced karate, so you can see how busy Mark and Jill was chasing their careers and the kids.
The family decides to take some time off, go see Mark's brother and see some nature away from the city. As they go along their trip, the kids have never seen such amazing sights and animals. It wasn't long before something is wrong with the family and they start seeing visions and having bad dreams but play it off as new experiences and fatigue until it intensifies with the family in trouble, a trip to the hospital and some very bad news.
