John Johnson and his record store Pet Sounds have become a regular part of the Venice Beach community, always willing to lend a friendly ear or provide the best music. But the death of John's neighbor and oldest friend and his coffee shop being immediately taken over by a vegan café run by a pretentious owner are a harsh reminder that times are changing. There may not be room anymore for an old record store in a world focused only on chasing trends and it may be time for John to pack up and move on instead of holding onto the past. He no longer fits in amongst the lazy activists, edgy artists, and influencers who want everything for free.
The annual summer festival is the perfect chance for John to turn things around and find some new customers. But an incident in a coffee shop bathroom could spell further trouble.
Can John and his store survive in an ever-changing world, or has the music come to an end?
