"José Yan: The Baseball Player" is a story set in the small neighborhood of "Harás Nacionales" in Villa Mella. José Yan, the protagonist, has had a lifelong dream of becoming a professional baseball player. It is later revealed that the manager's intentions were never focused on José's success, but rather exploiting his skills for personal gain. Disillusioned, José confronts his manager and breaks ties with him. Feeling defeated, José temporarily gives up on his dreams and seeks menial jobs to support his struggling family.
However, a glimmer of hope appears when a friend introduces José to a new manager who genuinely believes in his potential. Despite his initial skepticism, José meets with the manager, who recognizes his talent and takes immediate action to get him noticed by scouts. Finally, a scout gives José a chance and signs him, allowing him to fulfill his lifelong dream of joining a renowned team in the United States.
The story emphasizes the importance of perseverance in the face of adversity and the pursuit of one's dreams. José's journey showcases the resilience and determination required to overcome obstacles and achieve success.
