A native of Indiana, Carolyn spent a good portion of her youth and adult life in the northwest Chicago suburbs, where she dabbled in the health and fitness industry until finally landing a full time career in insurance. Not liking the cold, gray winters of Chicagoland, Carolyn moved to a bright and sunny suburb outside of Atlanta, Georgia. She started her professional journalism career in Cumming, Georgia, where she continues to work as a freelance writer for various media outlets including print and Internet publications.
A life long fitness enthusiast, Carolyn writes a monthly column for Northside Woman, an Appen News monthly magazine.
Carolyn enjoys reading, but considers herself a genre snob, reading mostly mysteries and some chick lit. She loves to read Harlan Coben, Robert Crais and the late Robert Parker, whom she feels was the ‘most incredible writer ever’.
Married since 1998 to her ‘hottie hubby’, she is the mother of three children and two very old, very high maintenance dogs.
Carolyn doesn’t see ghosts, but swears she would be okay with it as long it was during the day.

USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR Carolyn Ridder Aspenson's love for shelter dogs them shine in the second installment of the Pooch Party Cozy Mystery Series! Don't worry, no dogs are hurt in the book…though a few do get a few too many treats!
No one Messes with Widow Missy Kingston's dogs or her friends…
As the town's annual fundraising gala for the local women's shelter approaches, I'm excited to showcase the shelter dogs and find them their furever homes. The cozy small town is buzzing with anticipation, and everyone who's anyone will be there.
I've planned the perfect pooch party, with quirky and cute dogs and puppies ready to show off their adorable ways.
But when the most prominent financial contributor to the women's shelter is found dead, the cozy atmosphere is shattered. And to make matters worse, the prime suspect is none other than my close friend, Max. He's a dutiful city council member and my deceased husband's best friend, and I won't let him be framed for a crime he didn't commit.
With my trusty sidekick, my rescue dog, by my side, I delve into the investigation, determined to clear Max's name. As I dig deeper, I discover a web of power, politics, and money that puts the entire town at risk.
As the clock ticks down and the pressure mounts, I find myself in the killer's line of sight. But I won't back down, not when Max's freedom is at stake. With the help of the quirky characters in town, I'll find the real culprit and bring justice to our cozy little community.
