I came to writing later than many, having previously held the title of reviews editor for a large B2B magazine, but fiction was a whole new area for me. As someone who devours books, I read on average four novels a month, sometimes more, but I schedule my writing time into each day and it’s as enjoyable to me as reading a fellow author's pride and joy. There’s something special about curling up with a good book as you're transported to another dimension or situation. I’m a few years into this change and write in several genres, although they all have one thing in common: mystery. I’m a sucker for whodunits and whether there’s a ghost, some historical data, a smattering of magical realism or a full-blown serial killer, the characters guide me through all the way to the end. I invite you to peruse my portfolio, where you’ll find both my current titles and those soon to be released. You can also sign up for early-bird offers, news and giveaways, but if you're more interested in leaving a comment or asking about a particular character, I’d be happy to respond. I hope you enjoy reading The GOD.docx File as much as I did writing it, I have a special soft spot for Jeremy John. I look forward to hearing from you when you visit my home from home https://katrinadeverill.com and while you’re there, remember some of the best books are the ones that have yet to be discovered!

Lilly Beveridge Investigates
|
To annihilate a life, you must take both their future and their past…
Murders happen, but when social media provides a second assassination of the victim, the execution is complete; two lives lost, one hangs in the balance, who's next…
Lilly Beveridge is appalled when her friends decide to relocate to the village where their stories were changed forever. Given it was a move that started the whole sorry mess she got caught up in last time she convinces Tom her husband to follow them. But as they settle into their new environment and just as everything appears to be the best thing since sliced bread it all changes. Lilly's different perspective on life after her accident provides Lilly with a vibrancy. Together with her career change, she throws herself into the world of a novelist a people watcher and a plotter. It was a major decision to follow in her favorite writers footsteps, the Bestselling novelist Sylvia Scholtz, cut off in her prime in this very village. It was a brutal murder solved by Lilly after her own ordeal some time ago and the one woman she revered and hoped to emulate.
When her completed novel is sent to her chosen editor Lilly is dumbstruck when the woman disappears taking her manuscript with her. Thanks to her husband she retrieves the data. Lilly is elated to land a literary agent and it is no other than Sara Irving Sylvia's best friend and mentor. When her book signing starts things begin to come together similarities send Lilly into a cold frenzy. Although at first Lilly fails to see any connection to the first in a spate of very modern murders. But the following investigation into the death of the village's vicar in dreadful circumstances raises questions and Lilly is quick to offer her assistance in uncovering the murderer. She thinks she knows where it is all heading and it leaves her with a deep desperate feeling of doom.
Little does she know she is already knee-deep in the details and when she catches on she finds her own life is in more danger than she realized.
Of course, the initial crime causes terror for the growing tourism. The area can ill afford the bad publicity and the villagers are again in danger of losing everything. When it happens again it really starts to bite, but the deaths of other people appear connected and things ramp up to another level.
Can Lilly and her friends uncover the truth and keep it on the lowdown? Or will the killer continue to evade justice and send their livelihoods down the pan? With the plot literally written, it's only the killer who remains a mystery. If Lilly can't stop them then the regeneration of Aber-Y-Plwm will have all been for nothing and the new life of her and her friends in Wales will be over.
