Written in first person, 'The Resurrection' is about the strange story of the author, who is a foreigner, and the unearthly way he learned to speak and write English fluently. This piece of high-quality literature is gripping and full of suspense, with twists. It's worth reading it till the very end. Down below, extracts from the story:
When I woke up again, it was already late at night. The sky was starry, with a segment of waxing moon up in the zenith. I looked up at the stars of the milky way as I thought of my future...I screwed up my eyes shut, and then I opened them again. I squinted, trying to see things in the dimly-lit night and bring them into focus. The house lights had been turned off...As I got to the middle of the front yard, I caught a fleeting glimpse of someone out of the corner of my eye; it looked like a shadowy figure that moved quickly. I turned to face it, but it seemed to have gone...Drawn by curiosity, I kept walking towards where the whispering voice came from, even though I had started to feel fear, fear of the unknown. I was about ten meters away from the big carob tree when a woman in white moved into sight from behind the tree trunk..."You're lucky, Cesar. Many men who followed her into the forest disappeared for weeks and when they came back they were madmen. Satan must be in there. No one dares to go into the forest," he said..."Yes. They changed completely. They were gone out their minds, when they came out of there. And all of them told the same story about the woman in white that disappeared into the woods," she said...
