Moving toward her Sixty-fifth birthday, Tessie Blount contemplates the next stage of her life. The death of her last girlfriend has her floundering as she deliberates between wanting to go on living or taking flight as all her friends have done and 'go up yonder.'
Not married and with no purpose, she questions the validity of living further until love is offered to her most unexpectedly.
But will she accept it?
