Buried deep under Toronto and locked away behind non-descript doors is Lower Bay Station, one of several platforms on the ill-fated Bay Line. Built in the 60s to accomodate Toronto's rapidly expanding and diversifying population, the Bay Line was only ever in operation for six months before it was sealed away from public use, only occasionally opened up for tours or movie shoots since.
But, ever since its closure, frequent reports from transit employees and maintenance staff have told strange phenomenon and terrifying encounters, of objects being moved, of cold spots and cold drafts, of glimpses of someone running down the platform out of the corner of their eye, of the sound of a woman's beautiful singing echoing down the tracks. They were largely dismissed until the sightings began to come in, of a woman in a long, flowing red dress. Many reported that she had no legs and seemed to hover in the air with her dress billowing. Others said that she also had no eyes. And, ever since, the mystery of who she is and why she haunts an abandoned subway platform has swirled with no answers in sight. As such, she has become known as the Lady in the Red Dress or the Lady in Red, and she has since become one of Toronto's most famous ghosts.
This story is based on real eye witness testimony and the real history of Toronto and Lower Bay Station!
