Lee Quail (1993) was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, to British immigrant parents. His first book, "Gideon," was published via Amazon on 21 December, 2018. He lives with his two extremely cocky Yorkies and sometimes mows the lawn between writing. He is also a graphic designer, cooks his own food, cuts his own hair and buys his own clothes. He lives in the first house ever built in his area in the 60's.
Candle-maker Christopher Mattison has relationship issues and is disillusioned with life after discovering his lover with another man. He buys an old church on the outskirts of Sutherland in the Karoo region of South Africa, where, he hopes, his life will return to normal, far away from the rat-race, from the hurt that always seems to follow him wherever he turns.
In his endeavour to restore his sanity, Christopher unwittingly sets off a sequence of events that will shape his future in this star-gazing town, host to the S.A.L.T telescope.
What he doesn't expect is to meet the wholesome, ginger single dad, Jarred Bright who has trust issues and is owner of the town's general store.
But Jarred comes witrh tons of heavy luggage and is reluctant to unpack his terrible past. Questions arise: Why did his wife abandon their daughter? Who is the enigmatic stranger, Daniel Harper? And what is the town's god-fearing pastor hiding behind?
Will the tragic events of Jarred's past tear Christopher and Jarred apart? Or will they overcome all adversity to face a life rich with love and respect?
