Haylee Evans has never had a real family or a place to call home.
Her whole life, all she wanted to do was work with animals. After working hard to finally realize that dream, she suddenly finds herself with a thirteen-year-old sister to raise. They both need a fresh start, so they move to Quinn Valley where her sister can have the life Haylee never did.
Joel is happy with his life, living comfortably with his loyal dog, Stanley by his side. He owns his own vet clinic and is doing what he loves to do. That is all turned upside down the day Haylee walks into the Quinn Valley Paws-pital for a job interview.
When Haylee and Joel end up involved in a serious animal rescue case, they have to work together to save the animals who are counting on them to survive. They are both determined to give these animals a chance at a better life.
But what will happen when the past catches up to Haylee and threatens to destroy her own chance to realize her dream of having a family and a home of her own? Will she be able to learn how to trust and love before it's too late?
