The appearance of the Ark led to the formation of another human organization, the Union Aerospace Corporation (UAC).
UAC's predecessor was a number of large military-industrial complexes, and had also been a funder of the archaeological team, and then, through various maneuvers, UAC managed to appropriate the right to use the ark, and the power to conduct scientific research and exploration, and mining and exploitation of Mars, for itself.

Subsequent years of research by the uac genetics team revealed that the extra pair of chromosomes allowed the Martian corpse to gain super strength, reflexes, and healing during his lifetime, overcoming virtually every kind of disease.
The extra pair of chromosomes did not occur naturally, but were also created through genetic engineering as an "agent".
