Breathing Fire is a dramatised memoir with touches of fantasy, where Ben recalls a childhood moment that forever shaped him. In a heated argument at school, Ben lashes out with a racial slur, sparking deep guilt and self-reflection. Guided by his mother, he learns the weight of words and seeks redemption. Blending memory with dragon-filled imagination, this short story explores race, anger, and personal growth.
Trigger Warning: This story contains themes of racism, prejudice, and the use of a racial slur, which may be distressing to some readers.
