Peter was born in Bulawayo, Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe).
He is passionate about Africa, its wildlife, people and landscape. In retirement, he is a part-time professional photographer and the author of three books in the series, 'The Great Trek North', 'We Brothers' and 'Justice Will Be Done.' His latest novel is The Pride of a Nation.
He loves Africa with a passion and still considers it home. He has been a regular visitor to Zimbabwe, honeymooning there with his wife and touring the country with his adult children.
He emigrated to Australia in 1978 to take up an engineering position in Sydney. He now lives in Adelaide, South Australia.
John, a Zimbabwean archaeologist, discovers a loose leaf map of The Great Zimbabwe in an old book. The map shows a structure that was thought to be the treasury of the ancient civilisation that built The Great Zimbabwe. The location is now just vacant land at the UNESCO World Heritage Site. He enlists the aid of a mining magnate to fund exploration and works with his assistant Sarah to find the treasury. They find much more than they bargained for.
Colonists believed that the indigenous people did not have the skills to build the structure and spread this as propaganda. John and Sarah discoveries reveal the truth about who built The Great Zimbabwe. Their discoveries vindicate the Shona people.
But what happened to the the tribe that built it and the 20 million ounces of gold that the ancient civilisation mined?
This novel takes the reader on a journey from the 12th century to modern times.
