Mahmud Al Mahmud is the Penname of Yaw Asirifi-Twum, a Veteran Ghanaian Journalist, Author and Poet. A former Lecturer of Journalism/ Mass Communication at the Manifold Tutorial College. He was a co-founder of the Pan-African Initiative e.v, Germany, a multicultural non-governmental organization that was based in Fulda, Hessen.

Life they say, is what and how you make it. He used to sell newspapers at dawn, work at a construction site as helper and at evenings, he attended classes to further his education. From a basic school leaver, to a university graduate, majoring in journalism and mass communication. After graduation, e landed a job in a frontline media establishment and a few years later, he established his own private newspaper and a media mongul. The book take a memory journey into the 1983 Nigerian government deportation order in which over two million Ghanaians were affected and got stranded at the infamous "no man's land" in between Benin Republic and the Republic of Togo. The book takes an indepth coverage of the hardships and human incoveniences that the stranded Ghanaians went through on the deserted land.
