Jewish sects actually began to appear at the time of the Maccabees in the second century BC.
Due to the expansion of this religion, the Jewish leaders saw the formation of the Supreme Jewish Council (Sanhedrin) in Jerusalem, but the Romans canceled it in the year 70 AD, so its members moved to the village of Yavna near Jaffa and from there to Tiberias. During the reign of Emperor Antonius Pius (138-161 AD), the Sanhedrin was reconstituted in Galilee, and its presidency remained hereditary in the Hillel family for more than three centuries. The Sanhedrin is the court that judged Christ, son of Mary, and ruled that he should be crucified in 29 AD.
The Sanhedrin at that time consisted of 71 members.
But as a result of the spread of Greek culture among the Jews, Jewish sects arose.
