|udith Lamb was born in United Kingdon and is a first-time fictional writer. She became a qualified Psychologist. 2008. and worked in Mental Health for over 20 years. As a person who faced racism growing decided to write a book based on some life experiences and her mother's homeland Saint. Vincent. her main initiative in writing this book was based on party scenes she visited at an early age. Her main aim was to capture the lives of young people growing up in Britain from the 1960s.to 1990s
This book was written based on British Caribbean life in Great Britain and is a continuation of Judith's first novel, Living in the Unknown, Caribbean Way. Although the outcomes in this book are fictional, the narrative is inspired by true events.
The first novel reflected the life of Esther who came to England in 1956. Later on, she sent for her daughter, Margaret to join her. Margaret and Esther's lives continue in book two. After Margaret lost her husband Anthony to bring up her two boys on her own. The question is.. How does Margaret continue to cope with life without him?
In addition, Book Two navigates towards the British-born and the Windrush Generation, who grew up in Britain from the 1960s to the end of the 1990s. Reflect on their social life experiences, trying to find some purpose in life and expectance. During the 1970's, and the eighties. The Diamond Ladies, their lives saw a change, and they became more prominent in life, new careers, and new partners. However, do they say goodbye to the raving scene?
However, in the early years, the settlers from the Windrush moved towards changes, and fighting against discrimination and fighting for their equal right became dominant in the 60's. Clubbing and having a house parties was a way of escape for them, not just from discrimination, working hard during the week helped the pressures of life to bring some solemn and grace. Carmel and Richards took on a more positive role in helping the community, by keeping their spirit up and indeed fighting against injustice for the Black Caribbeans living in the United Kingdom.
