A novella of suspense from TAYLOR DYE that will have you on the edge of your seat…
The gory details of a string of deadly home invasions in Connecticut fill the local papers, putting an entire state on edge, with no one knowing exactly when or where the killers will strike next. So far, none of the inhabitants of the targeted houses has been spared—fathers, mothers, children; all have been bound, blindfolded, and executed at close range.
Ben Epstein, a resident of Brewer, Connecticut, but currently out of town on business, hasn't heard from his family back at home as expected. As another call to his house goes unanswered, Ben goes to Plan B: phoning his next-door neighbor and friend of the family, Lee Silvia.
Silvia, a paunchy, unassuming retiree of sixty-seven who is also aware of the recent home invasions, agrees to go check on the Epstein house next door.
Ben can only hope that everything is okay. Perhaps Dhara, his wife, has taken the kids to Discovery Place and simply forgot to tell him they would be away. He has no idea that with a single phone call, he has put into motion a set of events even more newsworthy than the recent spate of crime…
…that is, if anyone is left alive to tell the tale…
