Around the end of August 2018, a special needs freshman was being teased and bullied at the local high school. He made the teachers, principal, and school staff aware of the situation. Nothing was done, so he got on top of the school's roof, which was three stories high, and jumped. I saw it on the local news. I don't know if he survived the fatal injuries. But since he was a minor the news couldn't give too much information. The picture on the book cover is my son E.J. He gets treated the same way at school. Bullying is mean and uncalled for. But to bully a special needs child is beyond mean, it's cruel! There are three types of people.
One, is a person that sees it happening and doesn't say anything. Thinking… it's not me, I don't care!
Two, a person that sees it happening and doesn't like it in their heart. But doesn't do or say anything.
Three, a person who sees it happening, steps up and does something about it.
Let the third person be you. Strength is in numbers, just you stepping up alone. This may give someone watching the strength to step up too. Which may cause one of their friends to also step up as well.
